PHOENIX — Like many families, Lynnette Jones and Karley Nation were at a loss as to how to celebrate their grandson and son's birthday amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Until they had the idea of a drive-by birthday party allowing them to celebrate six feet apart.
"It was more than I expected. I thought there would be like 10 people and then all of a sudden the cars kept coming,” said Jones.
"It felt like everything's going to be okay," added Nation.
Fifteen cars rolled through the makeshift party. Only stopping to drop off presents. The family says the memories will last a lifetime even though their little ones won't remember the socially distanced celebration. Jones says, "People are really down and they're thinking negative. You got to think positive. We'll get around this."
