PHOENIX — A man has been arrested after stabbing two people in Phoenix and killing one of them.

Officials say at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, a man later identified as Alan Demond Clark, 43, approached the vehicle of a 38-year-old woman while she was waiting for a train to cross near 51st Avenue and Washington Street.

Clark reportedly stabbed the woman through the open window in the car. The woman's injuries are minor and she suffered a superficial wound, police say.

When officers arrived on scene, they located Clark who then told officer he stabbed another person in a motel room near 51st Avenue and Buckeye Road. Officers then found 19-year-old Christopher Anthony Molinar dead on the motel scene.

Officers say the relation between Clark and Molinar is unclear, however, the woman who was stabbed did not know him. He denied knowing either victim, according to police paperwork.

Clark was arrested on one charge of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

According to police documents, Clark said he was "angry" when the deadly attack occurred.

He said he was trying to get help when he tapped the second victim on the shoulder, not realizing he had the knife in his hand.
