PHOENIX — Two Phoenix police officers were taken to the hospital Saturday night after a crash near the I-17 and Bell Road.
Police say the incident happened while the officers were on a traffic stop in the area around 11:30 p.m.
During their investigation, the driver of another vehicle failed to stop and rear ended their patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Both officers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The collision also appeared to cause one vehicle to flip onto its roof.
It's unclear if that was the suspect's vehicle or the vehicle of the person that was originally pulled over.
The driver that caused the collision was taken to the hospital and is expected to be processed for DUI.
Police have not identified the driver that allegedly caused the crash.
