Police say a man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian in north Phoenix.

Officers responded to the area of 25th Street and Bell Road around 7 p.m. Saturday. A pedestrian reportedly ran across Bell Road and was struck by a motorcycle headed eastbound.

Officers on scene tried to perform life-saving efforts on the pedestrian but he died at the hospital.

Police have only identified the victim as a 57-year-old man.

The motorcyclist stayed at the scene and was later taken to the hospital with injuries. He is expected to survive.

Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash. No citations were issued.
