PHOENIX — A Valley family says someone is using a pellet gun to shoot their animals at their home near State Route 51 and Bell Road.

Amber Roberts runs a ranch out of her backyard. About six months ago, she says she noticed her barn cats had injuries.

"One lost an eye, another lost an ear," Roberts said. "Just shot in various places."

Then, just a few weeks ago, she says the family's beloved dog Baylee was struck by a pellet.

"I went to open the door and she was covered in blood," Roberts said.

She says the family had no choice but to put her down. "She was fun, she was sweet, loyal to a fault," Roberts said. "She was a good girl."

She says their other dog also has an unexplained injury. "I'm starting to think she got shot in the face," she said.

The family says they've been forced to change their daily routine.

"You start with the barn cats, our dogs, what's next?" Roberts said. "We don't want things to escalate. We don't want things to get worse. Everyone deserves forgiveness., but I also want to be careful because if someone needs help, they need to get help."

Phoenix police say they're investigating but there are no suspects at this time. The family does not have security cameras, but is getting them now.
