PHOENIX — Two individuals were seriously injured after a crash near 26th Street and Bell Road Monday afternoon.
Police say the driver of a Ford Fiesta was attempting to make a left turn onto 26th Street and Bell Road and was struck by a black Cadillac around 3:30 p.m.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, 49-year-old Lola Thomason, was transported to the hospital. Officials originally stated that Thomason had died from her injuries, but have since stated that she is alive.
The 27-year-old driver of the Cadillac was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say impairment does not appear to be a factor for the driver of the Cadillac, but it's unknown for the other driver.
Police are investigating the crash.
