Phoenix police say a missing 9-year-old boy has been found safe.
Greden Alan Phillips was last seen around noon Saturday at his home in the area of 20th Avenue and Cactus Road, officials said. Police say he was headed out to play around that time.
Officials got the call after dark on Saturday night and were looking for him throughout the night and into Sunday morning. They went door to door, contacting friends and checking areas where a young boy may go.
Police asked the public for help locating Phillips, but later sent an update saying he was found safe at a friend's house.
Greden spent the night at a friend's apartment, police said. After people saw the news coverage regarding the boy's disappearance police were directed to the apartment where he was safely found.
