The Interstate 17/Pinnacle Peak overpass was shut down Monday morning after a deadly car crash, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Just before 7:30 a.m. on Monday, a pickup truck went off the road on northbound I-17 at Pinnacle Peak and struck the bottom of the overpass after it went up the embankment.
DPS says the only person in the truck died from the collision.
Engineers inspected the bridge to verify that it was not structurally affected from the impact.
All lanes of travel are open following the crash.
