A reunion caught on camera to warm your heart for the holidays...

It was nothing short of a holiday miracle Thursday night, when 8-year-old Lily and her pet mom, Maria, were reunited after the Boston Terrier had been missing for one and a half years!

In July 2014, Lily got spooked and ran off while Maria was taking out the trash. Maria searched everywhere for her, and she even had a monetary reward offered. Maria never gave up hope that they would be reunited someday.

Now, approximately 500 days later, and just in time for the holidays, the two are back together.

A Good Samaritan brought Lily into the Arizona Humane Society where workers discovered she had a microchip, and within hours, Maria and her daughter were on their way to pick up Lily.

Lily is pretty skinny and has definitely aged according to her family, who plans on taking her to the vet to get her further examined.

The moral of this story is that it's a good idea to have your pet microchipped, maybe as a holiday gift to them and to you for the holidays.
