A Valley woman is channeling the pain of losing her son into a way for all of us to cope and work through grief.

Dee Ellsworth lost her son Robert to a heart attack suddenly last year.

So she took pen to paper and wrote a book titled "New Consciousness in Transformation: Soul's Journey Through Love and Grief."

The goal was to explore all of the emotions, low moments and resilience after we lose someone we love, hoping it would inspire others.

"Sometimes, you don't understand why things happen," explains Ellsworth. "But there is a purpose. I always feel it there is a way to help other people who are still going through grief who feel their worlds have ended, but it doesn't."

She has self-published the book. She's hoping to get into local stores and start doing book talks to help more people.
