A crash Monday night seriously injured two children.
Phoenix firefighters said two girls, ages six and nine, were taken to the hospital after a crash at the intersection of 19th and Southern avenues.
Both girls are in critical condition, officials said. A 26-year-old woman was also hospitalized with minor injuries. An additional 8 people were treated at the scene and refused to be taken to the hospital.
A picture from the scene showed two vehicles crashed and came to rest in the intersection. One of the vehicles had damage to its roof, though authorities did not immediately say if it was a rollover crash.
Phoenix police closed the intersection while officers investigated.
