Police say a 19-year-old woman has died after being shot in her car by a 17-year-old on October 22.

Phoenix police say officers were called to the area of 17th and Peoria avenues around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in response to a shooting.

19-year-old Norma Luna was sitting in the back of a car that pulled up next to another car when the other driver fired multiple rounds, hitting the woman.

Luna was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Police say they were able to track down the teenage suspect who was taken into custody thanks to help from witnesses. Police have not identified the suspect arrested, but say he is being charged with first degree murder.

Officers recovered two weapons during the arrest.
