PHOENIX — A Phoenix man has been arrested for attacking another man who was meeting with the suspect’s wife.

Phoenix police say 31-year-old Hari Monger found out that his wife was meeting with another man, and somehow learned of their location.

Around 1 p.m. Monday, Monger crashed his vehicle into the parked car of the other man in a Phoenix parking lot. Monger then got out of the vehicle and attacked the victim with a hatchet that also had a hammer on it, police say.

The victim was able to escape the attack and was not seriously injured.

The victim claimed to police that he did not know the woman was married and would not have become involved with her if he did.

Monger reportedly told police he crashed into the car to "block it in," and admitted to attacking his own wife and the other man "with a stick."

Monger was arrested and faces several charges, including aggravated assault, criminal damage, drug possession and fleeing the scene of an accident.
