A Surprise man accused of manslaughter for driving impaired and causing a fatal freeway crash in Glendale last year has pleaded guilty in the case.

Maricopa County Superior Court records show 52-year-old David Matthew Falco pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter and endangerment when his plea deal was set to expire.

He's now scheduled to be sentenced on April 22.

Authorities say Falco had a blood-alcohol level of .167 percent in preliminary tests conducted three hours after the July 28 crash on Loop 303.

That's more than double Arizona's legal limit of .08 percent for drivers.

Authorities say 42-year-old motorcyclist Shawn Sather of El Mirage died at the scene.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers arrested Falco on suspicion of driving under the influence after observing several visual clues of impairment.
