Phoenix officials said early Friday that there is a tentative agreement between a bus drivers' union and the company Transdev to end a week-long bus strike.
Public Transportation Department spokesman Lars Jacoby says that if union members approve the deal, the drivers will return to work Saturday.
He said in a news release that his department learned that members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1433 will be asked to decide on the plan later Friday.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton said in the same release: "I'm pleased that ATU and Transdev negotiators showed leadership and stayed at the table to find a way to common ground."
Transdev operates 34 routes which are some of the city's most heavily used.
There was no immediate word on details of the plan. But some contentious issues have included bereavement time, bathroom breaks and a tiered payment system.
The agreement ends a week long strike by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1433.
The strike impacted tens of thousands of riders and more than 30 routes during the union dispute with TransDev.
Despite the tentative agreement, Friday bus service was still running routes at limited service.
