Security measures increase around the country for big events

Posted

Security will be in the back of concert-goers minds Wednesday night at the Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Live concert.

The show will be the first big event in Phoenix since the deadly attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

Officials at Talking Stick Resort Arena can't comment about any new or additional security measures being taken for safety reasons. However, across the country, venues have increased security and added concrete barrier outside where people congregate.

In Chicago, officers were armed with assault rifles at a U2 concert. In New York, there has been a visible increase of officers at airports, bridges, tunnels and mass transit centers.

Law enforcement officials want to remind the public if they see anything suspicious or odd -- tell an officer or security official.
