Man dead after shooting near 24th Street and McDowell Road

PHOENIX — Phoenix police say one person is dead after a shooting at an apartment complex early Friday morning.

Officers were called to the area of 24th Street and McDowell Road around 3:20 a.m. where a man was found dead in an apartment complex parking lot.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old David Morales.

The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 230 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored hat with a white emblem and a blue and white hooded sweatshirt.

Phoenix police say this homicide is not connected to another homicide that occurred early Friday morning near 44th Street and Thomas Road.
