Police say two incidents involving firearms may be connected.

Officers responded to a neighborhood near 35th Avenue and Broadway around 7 p.m. Saturday to investigate a report of shots fired.

A short time later, officers received word of a person with a gunshot wound at a fast-food restaurant near 19th Avenue and Broadway. The victim was taken to the hospital with what was reported to be a non-life threatening injury, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.

Investigators believe the shots fired call is connected to the person who was shot. No victims were found in the area of the shots fired report, but investigators believe it is connected to the shooting victim.

One person of interest has been detained, but officials did not immediately have specifics on the reason for the detention.

Officers were at both locations conducting interviews, but police said witnesses were not cooperating with detectives.

Authorities did not immediately provide any details on the victim.
