Phoenix police officers were involved in a second officer-involved shooting on Saturday.

The second officer-involved shooting happened near Central Avenue and Southern Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

According to a Phoenix police spokesman on scene, officers located a vehicle that was reportedly in an accident. While officers were talking with the suspect, 44-year-old Eduardo Andrade, in the car, he pulled out a weapon and started shooting at officers, who took cover and returned fire. During a second exchange of gunfire, the suspect was stopped, police say.

Phoenix firefighters arrived on scene and declared Andrade dead. 

Police said Andrade had a rifle and handgun in his possession. 

 

According to Phoenix police officials, no officers were injured.

Phoenix officers were involved in an early Saturday morning shooting that left one suspect dead.
