Phoenix firefighters say bystanders were able to quickly get a young boy out after he jumped into a canal Sunday afternoon.
Crews responded to the canal east of Indian School and Interstate 17 around 3:45 p.m.
Officials say three people saw the boy jump in and went in after him. Firefighters said a family member pulled the boy out before they arrived.
The boy wasn't in the canal long, but was still transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital as a precaution.
No other information was immediately available.
