PHOENIX — Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian-involved crash near 27th Avenue and McDowell Road.
The incident happened before 3 a.m. Thursday.
Police say the pedestrian, identified as 37-year-old Chris Hamilton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hamilton was reportedly crossing McDowell Road from north to south when the crash occurred. He was walking in the crosswalk against a red signal light.
The 45-year-old driver who hit Hamilton remained at the scene and is not suspected of impairment at this time.
