A man is hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car in Phoenix.

Police were called around 5:45 p.m. Sunday to the area of 24th Street and Lincoln Drive.

According to a Phoenix police spokesperson, it's believed that the man was hit by the car after walking into road.

The driver stayed at the crash scene and was being cooperative with police, officials said. Neither speed nor impairment appear to have been factors.

However, authorities said it's likely that the pedestrian was drunk.

It's unknown if any charges are being filed in connection to the incident.

No additional information has been released and an investigation is ongoing.
