PHOENIX — Phoenix police say an 85-year-old man has died after a crash near I-17 and Dunlap Avenue.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Dunlap Avenue and Black Canyon Access Road.
Police say 85-year-old Frank J. Oclassen was headed east on Dunlap Avenue when his vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle on Black Canyon Access Road.
Oclassen died from his injuries. His passenger, a 19-year-old man, was also uninjured.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 28-year-old woman, was not hurt in the crash.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but police say the vehicle on Dunlap Avenue failed to stop for a red traffic light.
No further information has been released.
