PHOENIX — Phoenix police say they have located the family of a toddler who was found wandering outside a Walmart early Sunday morning.
Police say the little boy was found outside the store near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 4 a.m.
Authorities say the child's parents contacted police around noon and that there may have been a misunderstanding about who was responsible for the child.
According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the matter is under investigation by the Arizona Department of Child Safety, who still has custody of the boy.
