PD: Arizona State Hospital resident sexually assaults nurse

PHOENIX — An Arizona State Hospital resident was arrested after reportedly sexually assaulting a nurse.

According to police documents, 34-year-old Joshua Joseph Surdyka reportedly exposed himself to the nurse before forcing her to perform sexual acts on him multiple times. Officials say he also slapped the victim three times on the head.

The victim told police the incident occurred on October 21 after 11 p.m.

Surveillance cameras inside the hospital, located near 24th and Van Buren streets, reportedly captured video of the incident.

Police say Surdyka is mentally disturbed and has misdemeanor warrants from Tucson and Casa Grande.

He was arrested and booked into jail on charges of indecent exposure, sexual assault and assault.
