PHOENIX — Police have identified a 16-year-old girl who died Sunday night after she was shot by another teen in Phoenix.
Phoenix police responded to a home near 17th and Peoria avenues around 10 p.m. after the shooting was reported.
Officers located a 16-year-old girl, identified Monday as Kinesha Hill, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Hill was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody in connection with the shooting, and is being charged with negligent homicide.
Police say the boy was in the room with the victim and was handling the firearm, “when it discharged,” hitting Hill.
The investigation is ongoing.
