PHOENIX — One person is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck in a Circle K gas station parking lot in Phoenix early Monday morning.
The incident happened in the gas station lot near 44th and Van Buren streets around 3 a.m.
Phoenix Police Department officials say a man, later identified as Martin Toledo Jr., 23, was hit and killed by a semi-truck in the parking lot.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene.
Officials say preliminary information suggests the victim was lying down in a low-light area when he was run over by the semi-truck, which was circling the parking lot attempting to exit onto 44th Street.
The driver was evaluated, and no signs of impairment were observed, police say.
