PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating after a deadly shooting early Monday morning.
Officers were called to the area of 2nd Avenue and McKinley Street around 5:20 a.m. where the shooting was reported.
Police found a man, later identified as 50-year-old Delfino Mendoza Picazo inside a van with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say Picazo was shot during an attempted armed robbery. Police are still looking for the suspect who is described as a male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall who was wearing dark clothing.
