PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a death investigation is underway after crews were called to an alley for reports of a fire early Wednesday morning.
The alley fire was reported near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road. When Phoenix fire and police units arrived, they found a man dead among the flames.
Homicide detectives are at the scene working to determine the nature of the death, and whether it was an accident or homicide.
