FD: Vacant PHX apartment fire may be suspicious

Officials are investigating after a fire started in vacant apartment units in Phoenix.

Phoenix fire responded to 32nd Street and McDowell Road just after 1:00 a.m. on Monday.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found two units on fire. Both of the units were vacant.

A security guard told firefighters they kicked out squatters an hour before the fire started.

According to officials, the fire may be suspicious.

The other units at the complex did not receive any damage.
