Officials are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead after shots were fired inside an apartment.
Phoenix fire officials said a 31-year-old was shot in the face and chest near Interstate 17 and Thomas Road on Friday afternoon.

Phoenix police said just after noon, someone heard shots inside an apartment complex. A woman stumbled outside of the apartment and fell to the ground, according to officials.
Police officials confirmed to ABC15 that the woman was pronounced dead, after she had been transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the shooting happened inside an apartment at the Bella Manor Apartments.
A man in his twenties connected to the shooting was seen walking near 24th Avenue and Thomas Road. He also had a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this moment.

Two children, ages 4 and 6, were in the apartment at the time, but not injured.
