Phoenix detectives are on the scene of a deadly double stabbing near a Phoenix light rail station.

Police found the scene near the 19th Avenue and Camelback Road light rail station around 1:45 a.m.

A man was pronounced dead in a field near the light rail platform and another victim, a 22-year-old man, was found collapsed on the tracks near the light rail platform in critical condition.

Police say the stabbing occurred during some type of argument between several people in the nearby field. The group reportedly fled southbound across Camelback Road.

One person, who police are calling an investigative lead, was detained in a nearby neighborhood and is being questioned. Surveillance video is also under review.

Light rail traffic was impacted for several hours on Wednesday morning, but both directions reopened around 7 a.m.

Westbound road traffic is still blocked for the investigation.
