Two years later, a Phoenix family is still looking for answers in their loved one’s murder.

Kevin Ore, 35, was shot and killed May 7, 2014 while walking home from work at the Rum Runner bar near 7th Street and Northern. He had stayed late to help a co-worker close.

Hours later, someone passing by found Ore shot deadinthe road just blocks away from work and home.

His father said whoever committed the crime not only took away his son but his future grandchildren.

Ore’s family said he had beaten cancer just before he was killed.

“I miss hearing his laugh, even if it was laughing at me. He had a good sense of humor and loved to play jokes,” said Emily Ore, Kevin’s sister.

The family is appealing to the public for any bit of information that can help bring them peace and justice.

“Until there’s an arrest, whoever did this is out walking around and can do that to your family,” said Michael Ore, Kevin’s father.
