A former Phoenix Fire Department captain has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for aggravated assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Jeffrey Charles Wilson was sentenced Wednesday after reaching a plea agreement.
The then 52-year-old Wilson drove up to a 19-year-old woman walking on a Glendale street in September 2016 and asked if she needed a ride.
The woman said no, but Wilson got out of his car and chased her.
Police say Wilson caught up to the woman, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her under a bridge where he sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
