PHOENIX — A dog found in northern Arizona with a muzzle on its face is one step closer to having a forever home.

Pixie was taken to the Arizona Animal Welfare League last month after being found near Tsaile. Officials believe the dog had a muzzle strapped on its face for at least two weeks.

The welfare league helped Pixie heal and after three weeks was put up for adoption.

At the adoption event, Pixie met potential adopters who brought their other friend, Jake. Pixie and Jake hit it off and are now at home on a slumber party. If everything goes well, the two may be best friends forever.
