PHOENIX, AZ — Authorities are investigating after a dead cat was found hanging in a tree Saturday afternoon.
Phoenix police were called an area near 12th and Roosevelt streets after receiving a call about a dead animal nearby.
When officers saw the dead cat, they called Arizona Humane Society Cruelty Investigators to take over.
Investigators took the cat's body to a facility where doctors could perform a necropsy. Officials say results typically take between seven and ten days.
Humane Society officials say they are working with Phoenix Police Department's Animal Crimes detectives to determine if any charges will be filed.
