Arizona's plan to net additional state revenue by forgiving interest and penalties on past-due taxes has paid off.
Gov. Doug Ducey's office says the program included in the 2015-2016 state budget brought in $47 million. That's $15 million more than the expected $32 million.
The program ran for two months that ended Oct. 3. It waived penalties and interest for those who owed the state money if they paid during that time period.
