Amanda Lynn Miller has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in the shooting death of her husband.

Miller previously pled guilty to 2nd degree murder after she shot and killed her spouse, 36-year-old Jesus Nevarez-Galindo in 2016.

Miller had reportedly told police that her husband lit a fire in the kitchen before she shot him. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said there was a history of domestic violence between Miller and her husband.

The two were reportedly arguing over financial difficulties before the shooting.
