A hit-and-run suspect has been detained by police after striking two motorcyclists and sending them to the hospital Thursday night.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Ardell Deliz said a 60-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were transported to a local trauma center after the crash near 19th and Northern avenues.
Police said Friday morning that one of the victims has since died, but did not release any more information.
Phoenix police told ABC15 Thursday night that the driver struck the motorcycles then took off running.

Officers said they located the suspect close to where the collision occurred.
Phoenix police said the driver was evaluated for intoxication and booked into jail. The suspect's name has not yet been released.
