Cottonwood police say they arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his roommate in the neck on Sunday.

Police say around 3 a.m. they responded to a report of a stabbing at a home near Mingus Avenue and Main Street.

As officers arrived, they learned Levi Phillips had gone home after drinking earlier in the night and got into an argument with people inside.

Phillips' roommate tried to calm him down which lead to him allegedly being tazed with a stun gun by Phillips.

After the occupants of the home were able to talk Phillips into going to bed, he allegedly came out of his bedroom and stabbed his roommate in the kitchen.

The 26-year-old victim was taken to a hospital in Flagstaff and has since been released.

Police say Phillips fled the area in his car and was later arrested when he returned home.

Phillips was booked into jail on multiple charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault and disorderly conduct.
