The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man accused of murdering his wife and unborn child.

According to deputies, 41-year-old Kenneth Blair said he accidently shot his wife while they were both struggling for a handgun.

YCSO say they arrived on scene near Wells Fargo and Butterfield Road in Prescott Saturday morning around 5 a.m. and found Delissa Blair, 41 years old, lying on the bed with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Blair and his 41-year-old wife have two children, ages 5 and 11, who were both home during the shooting, but not injured.

According to YCSO, Kenneth later admitted that he became angry with his wife and shot her.

He has been booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on two counts of second degree murder.

The Department of Child Safety, Yavapai Family Advocacy Center, and the Trauma Intervention Programs have stepped in to help with the children and other family members.
