Authorities say a small fire in northern Arizona began when someone left behind a pan that was used to heat heroin on dry wildland.

The Prescott Fire Department says it put out the quarter-acre fire in the Granite Creek Park area within 10 minutes on Thursday.

Crews stayed on scene for an hour to get rid of any hot spots.

The department says investigators found a pan that had been heated for heroin use and determined it was the point of origin.

Police haven't made any arrests.
