State Route 87 was partially shut down Tuesday after a man barricaded himself in his car and then committed suicide, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the suspect was threatening suicide for hours on SR-87 near the county line. The road was closed off in both directions from Sun Flower to State Route 188 shortly before 3 p.m.

The suspect's name was not released, but deputies said he shot and killed himself around 6 p.m.
