Authorities arrested an alleged wrong-way driver on Wednesday after he collided with an unmarked police vehicle on the Loop 101 in Scottsdale, police say.

Police said the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Kevin Chacon, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the Loop 101 around 10:30 p.m. when he collided with an unmarked police vehicle near Cactus Road, causing minor damage to the vehicle. The officer was not injured, police said.

After the crash, Chacon allegedly continued to drive on the freeway and was eventually stopped near 113th Street and Via Linda.

The driver was arrested and booked into jail on charges of extreme DUI, reckless driving, and other charges, police said.
