SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police say a family dispute led to a murder-suicide situation at a Scottsdale home where three people were found dead.

Officers were called to a home on Thursday afternoon near Hayden and Osborn roads for reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found two bodies lying in a driveway and another inside a vehicle.

Detectives say a male suspect, identified as 50-year-old Roger Lee Paris, killed his aunt, 76-year-old Donna Archer, by suffocating her in a vehicle parked outside the home.

He then shot his sister, 53-year-old Cheryl McCarthy, in the driveway before turning the gun on himself, according to Scottsdale police.

The killings stemmed from a family disagreement, police said, but did not elaborate what the disagreement may have been about.

The investigation remains ongoing.
