A barricade situation in a Scottsdale neighborhood has ended, according to police, and the suspect was taken to a hospital.
Scottsdale police said the armed suspect barricaded herself inside a home near Royal Palm and Hayden roads Friday afternoon.

Police said the woman entered the house while two construction workers were working on the property. She produced a handgun and forced the workers out.
SWAT team members made it into the home and located the woman who had a self-inflicted gunshot injury. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Police say the woman was a friend of the homeowners who were not at home at the time of the incident.
Police continue their investigation; other details are unavailable.
