SCOTTSDALE — L-101 northbound at Chaparral Road has reopened after a motorcycle crash involving a Scottsdale police officer closed the roadway for several hours on Wednesday.
The Scottsdale Police Department says the officer was conducting a traffic stop of a car just before 10 a.m. when a pickup truck swerved into the median and pinned the officer and his motorcycle against the median wall, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The pickup truck also struck the car involved in the traffic stop, DPS says.
The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and DPS officials say the officer was "on his feet and alert."
Around 4:30 p.m., officials confirmed that the officer has been released from the hospital after being treated.
Officials have not yet ruled out the possible involvement of impairment in this crash.
