A former Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a Scottsdale teenager in 2015 has been sentenced to lifetime supervised probation.

James Stough was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to an attempt to commit sexual abuse.

The 54-year-old Stough was originally charged with kidnapping, assault and sexual conduct with a minor.

Authorities say the then 16-year-old girl called Uber for a ride home from her Phoenix high school after taking final exams in June 2015.

The girl told Stough she was recovering from an ankle injury.

Authorities say Stough told the teen he was a massage therapist, pulled the car over to an area with undeveloped home lots and molested her.

DNA found on the girl's shorts was later matched to Stough and led to his arrest and firing from Uber.
