Fourteen Arizona ad agencies and vendors are joining together to create the Arizona Advertising Guild.

It will be "an issue-driven platform where we can tell the story of all the great creative work that's being produced out of Arizona," said BIG YAM the Parsons Agency CEO Marianne Guenther, who is also guild president.

"There's a lot of growth that's happening here and, as we continue to go on that trajectory, we want to bring in more clients," she said.

Guenther told ABC15 part of the guild's mission will be to recruit top talent away from New York, Los Angeles and Chicago -- long considered advertising agency hubs.

"No one knows that we are a top dog in this industry and we should be considered," she said.

Guenther said AZAG is planning to work with universities across the state to create an internship program, allowing students pursuing careers in the industry to rotate through agencies and, potentially, land a career in the state.

The guild will also be involved with state policy issues that could impact the industry.
