Officials are investigating after swastikas were found painted near school property in Paradise Valley.

Paradise Valley police said officers found swastikas painted on an electrical box and traffic sign outside of Cherokee Elementary School.

Officer Kevin Albert with the Paradise Valley Police Department said they're the incidents as a hate crime.

Officers photographed the damage and cleaned all of the graffiti.

"To graffiti swastikas — it's not OK," Albert said. "We don't want that to happen anywhere."

According to police, there are no suspects in custody at this time. Officials are following up on the case and the Anti-Defamation League is offering support as well.

"Public works was not working today," Albert said. "We knew that we could not leave that offensive stuff up. Officers did what they knew was right. They cleaned it off so it does not offend anyone if they drive through Paradise Valley."
